1. Who we are

NahaLove ("NahaLove", "we", "us") is a dating app operated by Ben Nasan and Rafi Goldberg, Israel. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy (the "controller" or "database owner"). You can reach us at nahalove.support@gmail.com.

This policy covers the NahaLove iPhone app and this website. It is written to meet the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and its regulations, and, for people in the European Union or United Kingdom, the GDPR.

2. What we collect

Account

Your email address and a password, or, if you use Sign in with Apple, the identifier and email Apple gives us (which can be a private relay address). Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form; we never see them.

Profile

Your first name, date of birth (others see only your age), gender, whether you're straight or gay, city, a short bio, and 3 to 6 photos. You can also take a verification selfie; it is seen only by the NahaLove team to check that your photos are really you, and is never shown to other users.

Your sexual orientation is sensitive information. We use it only to decide who you see and who sees you, and we collect it only with your consent when you sign up.

Activity in the app

Your likes and passes (swipes), matches, blocks, reports you make or that are made about you, whether you're on Nahalat right now (see section 3), and your subscription status.

Messages

Chats are end-to-end encrypted on your phone before they are sent. Our servers store only encrypted text that we cannot read. The keys that unlock your chats stay on your phone. The only messages we can ever read are ones a user chooses to attach to a report (see section 4).

Device and technical data

A push notification token if you allow notifications, and crash reports (device model, iOS version, app version and what went wrong in the code). Crash reports don't include your name, messages, photos or location.

Payments

Subscriptions are sold and charged by Apple. We never receive your card or bank details. Apple and our subscription service tell us which plan you have and when it ends.

Support

If you write to us, we keep your message and our reply.

3. Location

NahaLove only works on Nahalat Binyamin, so the app checks whether you're on the street. This check happens on your phone. Your coordinates are compared with the street's boundary on the device and are never sent to us or stored. The only thing that reaches our servers is "on Nahalat until [time]" or "not on Nahalat."

• "Allow Once" or the "I'm here" button: one check, then no tracking. "I'm here" switches itself off after 2 hours.
• "While Using the App": the app checks while it's open.
• "Always": your phone watches one large circle (about 1 km) around the street. When you enter it, the app checks, on your phone, whether you're on the street, switches "I'm here" on or off, and can send a "You're in the zone" notification. When you leave the circle, the checks stop.

Other users never see your distance or position, only that you're on Nahalat. You can change the permission at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

4. How we use your data, and why

Reports. When you report someone, you can choose messages from your chat to attach. Your phone decrypts only those messages and sends them with the report, so our team can review them. We see nothing else from your chats.

We don't use your data for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't make automated decisions that have legal effects on you.

5. What other users see

Your first name, age, city, bio, photos and a "verified" badge if your selfie was approved. They're shown only to people you could match with (straight people see straight people of the other gender; gay people see gay people of the same gender), and only when:

• you're both on Nahalat (your card stays swipeable for up to 30 minutes after you leave, so cards already on screen don't break),
• you've matched, or
• you liked someone who has Premium. Premium members can see who liked them. Without Premium, they see only a heavily blurred copy of one photo, made on our servers.

Other users never see your distance, your location, your email, your date of birth, or who you passed on.

6. Service providers

We use these companies to run NahaLove. They process data only on our instructions:

Where data leaves Israel or the EU, we rely on the provider's data protection agreements, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where they apply. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

7. How long we keep it

• Your account: until you delete it. Deleting your account (Profile → Delete account) permanently removes your profile, photos, selfie, likes, matches and messages. Copies in our database backups are gone within 30 days.
• "On Nahalat" status: only the current end time is kept; there is no history.
• Reports and moderation decisions: up to 12 months after they're resolved, so we can deal with repeat abuse, then deleted. A record of a ban may be kept longer, only to stop the same person from rejoining.
• Crash reports: up to 90 days.
• Support emails: up to 12 months.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, or delete it. You can delete your account yourself in the app at any time. You can withdraw consent (for location, notifications, or your orientation, which means deleting your account) and object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Write to nahalove.support@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days.

You can also complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority, or, in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.

9. 18+ only

NahaLove is only for people aged 18 or older. You must enter your date of birth to sign up. If we learn that a user is under 18, we delete the account.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Chats are end-to-end encrypted. Photos are kept in private storage and shown only through links that expire within an hour, and only to people allowed to see them. Blurred previews are made on our servers, so people without Premium never download the original. Access to the admin tools is limited to the two founders and protected by two-step login. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will tell you and the authorities about a serious breach as the law requires.

11. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
